PROJECT DESCRIPTION
As early as January 2000, Hailey Ice had the vision of building a fully enclosed ice arena. It was clear that we needed to expand upon our mission of providing an affordable ice skating facility in Hailey while also promoting and educating the community about ice sports for recreational, physical, and mental development.
In 2012, we began a fundraising campaign in and received generous lead gifts from the
Helen K. and Arthur E. Johnson Foundation, the Nancy Eccles and Homer M. Hayward Family Foundation, and an anonymous local couple. These lead gifts gave the project momentum and ultimately helped us raise over $6.5 million to complete the facility.
The Campion Ice House was built by our community, for our community. We opened our doors in 2015 and haven’t looked back since!
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
For the past ten years Hailey Ice has been a significant community hub for kids and families throughout the Wood River Valley and beyond. Over these past ten years, we’ve seen incredible growth in ice recreation programs.
Since moving their programs to Hailey Ice in 2015, Sun Valley Youth Hockey has nearly doubled in youth participants - now over 300 kids participating. As the new home for the Sun Valley Suns, attendance has tripled.
There are dozens of new clubs, camps, and programs that have developed here. We now
have a Curling Club for adults, female athlete hockey camps, and summer programming that’s grown year after year.
After ten years of operating and seeing incredible growth and community support, it’s time for us to respond to this momentum and look forward to the future of new programming.
This is the next iteration of Hailey Ice. We have a vision that will create new opportunities for our current and future participants while stepping up our benefit to the community at an even higher level.
