PROJECT DESCRIPTION
More than a decade ago, our community came together around a bold vision: to create a year-round home for ice sports in the Wood River Valley. With extraordinary generosity and determination, that vision became the Campion Ice House, opening its doors in 2015.
Today, the Campion Ice House is more than a place to skate. It is where young athletes discover their potential, families connect, friendships grow, and generations of our community come together.
Now, it’s time to build on what we started.
Through the $3 million Elevate the Experience campaign, we are reimagining the Campion Ice House to better serve the thousands of athletes, families, and visitors who rely on it today and to create an even stronger community resource for generations to come.
With exciting improvements planned and growing momentum behind the campaign, we are working toward beginning construction in Spring 2027.
Together, we built the Campion Ice House. Together, we can elevate what comes next!

The Campion Ice House has grown into something bigger than we imagined. It is a place where kids find their confidence, athletes discover what they’re capable of, families connect, and our community comes together.
And the demand continues to grow.
Sun Valley Youth Hockey has nearly doubled to more than 300 young athletes. Attendance for the Sun Valley Suns has tripled. New clubs, camps, women’s hockey opportunities, curling, and year-round programming continue to bring more people through our doors.
Now, it’s time for the experience to evolve with our community.
Elevate the Experience will make thoughtful improvements to the Campion Ice House, including dedicated space for female athletes, expanded youth locker and support areas, an enhanced café, dedicated Sun Valley Suns team space, and other updates that will better serve everyone who walks through our doors.
This next chapter is about more than improving a facility. It is about investing in what happens here: confidence, friendships, belonging, and memories that last a lifetime.

In its short existence the Campion Ice House has quickly become the lifeblood of the Wood River Valley. Every week seems to serve up a fun event, whether it’s a lively Suns game or another great youth hockey tournament--it’s family entertainment at its finest. Whatever improvements we make to Campion are actually improvements to the community at large.
